Mission to the Cities is published by the General Conference Urban Missions Department and is the first college level textbook on urban mission in the Adventist Church. The nine chapters cover a broad range of Biblical and historical topics on the city. The content footnotes provide further information.

All the sources cited in the book are linked to the internet for further information. To supplement and illustrate the text there are 17 Case Studies from around the world. The book features various indexes and an extended Annotated Bibliography of religious, secular and Adventist sources.
